As promised from previous update, I’ll be sharing our (not so) recent trip to Singapore for Anime Festival Asia 2014
.ROAD TO MISSION FAILED 2014
Just like last year, Anime Festival Asia was held at Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre. Our group originally planned to focus on ANISONG
but due to SG’s or bank’s new system, we were unable to purchase the tickets for the said event. We end up with Plan B
instead — which was shoot and shopping. We dedicate our Day 1 of the event for early bird shopping and funshoot later the afternoon.
Here are some of the outtakes of the said shoot Helix Bridge, Marina Bay, Singapore, Singapore: This is basically a 2-light setup.
Planning to go on 3 to 4 lights but it'll take so much of our time to shoot switching from one setup to another.
My co-photog's setup is completely different from mine.
The time really flies by so fast that we end up really late — resulting for us to be lazy the next day. With aching bodies, we decided to leave our gears and go on LIGHT for AFA Day 2 expecting that we’ll get a well-lit spot.
We arrived at the venue around 10am and it was pretty crowded already which is unusual because its kinda early for the event to be jam-packed like that. Later we learned photographer’s area (which we plan to camp-out) was divided into 2 (they’ve installed a Bazaar on the other half). With this little or no space to shoot, we decided to go on shopping instead and take few snaps later outside before going home. Here are some of my few snaps from the said event.
Me & yefa
decided not to go on the last day and focused on an adventure (+foodtrip) instead. Anyway here are the outputs from Day 2 & our adventure.
Anyway, here are some of the random photos from the funshoot, the event, & the adventure we had for the rest of our trip. Behind the scenes & ninja photos of the guests for ANISONG. LiSA!!! So close yet so far~! OTL TEAM S.A.B.A.W. random adventures.
The weather wasn't that nice during our trip but hell?! That didn't stop us from our crazy plans. Some of the foodtrips we had during the trip. Sorry for the few few few photos. If you think this is not enough, check my #Instragram account THE USUAL FROM THE UNUSUAL
Its been almost 4 years since I started in photography and ever since 2012, I’ve piled up lots of backlogs from shoots. But for the first time since then, I was able to bring them all down before 2014 ends — ALL OF THEM!!
Imagine the feeling that there’s something always bothering you for the past 3 years?
Like, “Hey its my FREE day!”
Free day for what? ...To rest?
...To go out with friends?
…..Free from IMPORTANT things and time to get back to my HOBBY. But first, let me try to clear my backlogs before shooting again.
Post-process some photos from the past.
I always told myself that hobby should be FUN. A way to exhaust my stress out from work & other negativities the world has to offer.
But here I am, struggling to kill all of these backlogs for the past 3 years. “Am I still having fun?” …. I don't think so..I am not like other people that can come up with an output in a blink of an eye.
It really requires me extra effort to get my gears going when it comes to ART — I’m a mathematical person you see.
There were it took me 3~5hours just to process a single photo (and even deleted it after because it fails to satisfy my taste).
That’s why it really feels like I got MY LIFE BACK AGAIN
once I pinned all of them few weeks back —giving me a second thought before shooting again.
For that reason, I gave my camera to yefa
because I’m still not sure when I’m going back. And if I’m going back, I want to keep things as discreet as possible — few few photos per set.If I'm going back...
But for now I’ll be on #SaikangMode
and enjoy this vacation from photography for awhile. Its the Year of the SHEEP after all — keep calm & chill.PS: Shoutout to KiraHokuten for sharing his 1-Year premium..!
